Returns
Last updated: 14 August 2026.
A pair of trousers is a long decision. If a piece is not right, you can send it back within fourteen days of delivery for a full refund of the garment price. The terms below explain how, and where the limits are.
We deliver within Switzerland; delivery to the European Union opens with the first release. If you are a consumer in the EU, your statutory right of withdrawal is described in §1a and, in full, on our withdrawal page.
Pre-launch reservations are handled separately – see reservation deposits below.
1. The window
Fourteen calendar days from the day you receive the parcel. Tell us within that window by writing to contact@arnautbelcour.com with your order number. We then have your return authorisation ready within two working days.
1a. EU consumers – the statutory withdrawal right
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may withdraw from the contract within fourteen days of the day you – or a third party you name, other than the carrier – receive the piece, without giving any reason. Declare it by email, with the model withdrawal form, or with the withdrawal button on our withdrawal page; we confirm receipt of a button withdrawal immediately by email. The full withdrawal notice is on the withdrawal page. Where this policy is more generous than the statute, the statute sets the floor, not the ceiling.
2. Condition
We accept the piece back if it is:
- Unworn beyond a careful try-on at home.
- Unwashed and free of marks, scent, and damage.
- Returned with the original swing tag attached.
- Sent in the protective bag and box it arrived in, or equivalent protection.
If a returned piece arrives outside this condition we may refuse the refund or apply a fair reduction; we always tell you first and send photographs. For a statutory EU withdrawal, the list above is packing guidance, not a condition: your right of withdrawal stands, and only where handling went beyond what a fitting in a shop would allow may we deduct compensation for the loss in value.
3. What is excluded
Two things sit outside the voluntary window:
- Pieces we shortened to a hem measurement you supplied. Hem alterations cannot be undone. EU deliveries are always supplied at the standard inside leg length, so this point does not arise for them.
- Final-sale or sample-sale pieces, where stated at checkout.
Nothing else is excluded. Every piece is made after you order, and that on its own does not close the window: a piece at its standard inside leg length can always come back. The statutory EU withdrawal right is not restricted by any point in this section, and statutory warranty rights for defective goods are not affected either – see the terms of sale.
4. How to send it back
- Write to contact@arnautbelcour.com with your order number and the piece you want to send back.
- We reply with a return authorisation and the address. Please do not send anything without it – unannounced returns may be lost.
- Pack the piece protected, tag attached. Use a tracked service.
- Once we receive it and confirm condition, we refund.
An EU withdrawal declared through the withdrawal button follows the same steps from there: we reply with the return authorisation and the address.
5. Shipping costs
Switzerland: returns are at your cost. We provide a discounted Swiss Post label on request, charged against the refund.
European Union: you bear the direct cost of returning the piece to our address in Switzerland. The return authorisation states the address and what to write on the customs declaration of the return parcel.
Defective or wrong items: we cover the return cost in full, in both markets – keep the receipt and we reimburse it.
6. Refunds
We refund to the original payment method within ten working days of receiving the piece back. For a statutory EU withdrawal we refund at the latest within fourteen days of your withdrawal; we may withhold the refund until we have the piece back or you prove you have sent it, whichever is earlier. The refund covers the full price you paid. Delivery – and, for EU orders, customs duties and import taxes – is inside that price, so there is nothing to reclaim from any authority.
7. Exchanges
We do not run a formal exchange flow. If you need a different size or fit, return the first piece for a refund and place a new order. We hold stock for you for up to seven days on request, so the new size does not sell out while the first piece is in transit.
8. Defective or wrong items
If a piece arrives damaged, defective, or different from what you ordered, write to contact@arnautbelcour.com – ideally with a photograph. Do this within a reasonable period; your statutory warranty periods apply in any case, and for deliveries in Switzerland claims end at the latest two years from delivery. We arrange a free return. We will first repair the piece or replace it; if both fail, or if waiting for either is unreasonable for you, the choice is yours: full refund against return, or a partial refund that reflects the defect. For EU consumers, the warranty section of the terms of sale states your rights, including the twelve-month presumption.
9. Pre-launch reservations
A reservation deposit of CHF 2 – EUR 2 for EU reservations – holds your size for the first October run. It is not a purchase: no garment is dispatched and no shipping address is collected until launch. You can cancel the reservation at any time before launch – write to contact@arnautbelcour.com and we refund the deposit in full, without deduction. For EU consumers the statutory withdrawal right remains unaffected in addition.
At launch the deposit is credited against the final order price, in the currency of that order. From the moment your piece is dispatched, the return window in §1 – and for EU consumers the statutory right in §1a – applies.
10. Questions
Anything not covered here, write to contact@arnautbelcour.com. A reply usually arrives within two working days.
This policy is effective as of the date shown above.
